In 2024, a Total of 1 Billion 80 Million 384 Thousand 814 Vehicles Passed Through Highways and Bridges

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, has announced the road traffic data for 2024. Minister Uraloğlu reported that a total of 1 billion 80 million 384 thousand 814 vehicles passed through highways and bridges constructed by the General Directorate of Highways and Public-Private Partnerships.

Stating that there are approximately 31 million registered vehicles in Turkey, Minister Uraloğlu said, "In 2024, the highways saw a usage level equivalent to 12 times the population of Turkey. This year, a total of 1 billion 80 million 384 thousand 814 vehicle passages occurred."

Uraloğlu mentioned that 570 million 382 thousand 22 vehicles passed through the highways operated by the General Directorate of Highways within a year, adding that the number of vehicles using the Mahmutbey-Edirne Highway was 111 million 406 thousand 244. He noted that the Istanbul-Ankara Highway was used by 170 million 993 thousand 515 vehicles and added, "In the last year, our Adana Highway saw 43 million 613 thousand 691, Mersin Highway saw 35 million 962 thousand 73, and the Çeşme-İzmir-Aydın Highway experienced 50 million 664 thousand 150 vehicle passages. The 15 July Martyrs Bridge was utilized by 71 million 814 thousand 940 vehicles, while our Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge saw a total of 85 million 927 thousand 409 vehicles."

Highlighting that 510 million 2 thousand 792 vehicles passed through projects realized through Public-Private Partnerships, Minister Uraloğlu stated, "From the Northern Marmara Highway, 428 million 181 thousand 650; from the Malkara-Çanakkale Highway, 3 million 786 thousand 539; from the Istanbul-İzmir Highway, 55 million 524 thousand 297; from the Ankara-Niğde Highway, 9 million 366 thousand 630; and from the Menemen-Aliağa-Çandarlı Highway, 10 million 353 thousand 134 vehicles passed. Furthermore, 2 million 790 thousand 542 vehicles used the Aydın-Denizli Highway."

Minister Uraloğlu also recorded that 21 million 201 thousand 416 vehicles passed through the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge in one year, with 19 million 464 thousand 305 vehicles using the Osmangazi Bridge and 2 million 684 thousand 738 vehicles using the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge.
