Foreign Smartphone Sales in China Plummet 47% in November

According to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), the shipments of foreign-branded smartphones, including Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Inc's iPhone, in China fell by 47.4% in November compared to the previous year.

Calculations based on CAICT data indicated that foreign-branded phone shipments in China decreased from 5.769 million units in the previous year to 3.04 million units during the month.

In November, total phone shipments within China experienced a year-on-year decline of 5.1%, dropping to 29.61 million units.
