Doğan Trend Group Appoints Uğur Sakarya as Deputy General Manager of Automotive Brands
Doğan Trend Otomotiv, which encompasses automotive, motorcycle, and marine engine distribution, along with retail sales and used vehicle operations, has decided to transition to a more focused structure to strengthen its corporate framework. As part of this restructuring, Uğur Sakarya, who has been serving as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Retail Operations, Car Rental, and Suvmarket, has been appointed as the Deputy General Manager for Automotive Brands within Doğan Trend Group.
Uğur Sakarya, appointed as the Deputy General Manager for Automotive Brands, has been in his role since 2021 overseeing Retail Operations, Car Rental, and Suvmarket. Doğan Trend Otomotiv, which holds a significant position in the automotive market with its portfolio of brands, aims to achieve a more field-oriented and focused structure within its upper management through this appointment. With 25 years of automotive experience, Uğur Sakarya will also take responsibility for the sales, marketing, and after-sales operations of MG, Suzuki, and Maxus brands under Doğan Trend Otomotiv in addition to his current role.
Uğur Sakarya, a graduate of Istanbul Technical University’s Mechanical Engineering Department, transitioned to the automotive sector in 2000 with Tofaş (IS:TOASO) after starting his career as an engineer. He continued his career as the Deputy General Manager at Otokoç Otomotiv in 2011, General Manager at Borusan Oto in 2014, and General Manager of BMW-MINI Turkey in 2018. In 2019, he gained entrepreneurial and e-commerce experience as the Founding General Manager of VavaCars. He served as the General Manager of Otomol from 2020 to 2021. Uğur Sakarya had been serving as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Retail Operations, Car Rental, and Suvmarket at Doğan Trend Otomotiv since 2021.
