Headline: Fresh Green Beans Soar 26.99% in Price Increase This December

Forex - The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced in December the products with the highest increases and decreases in retail prices in Istanbul, along with their prices and change rates, in order to ensure market transparency and inform the public.

Among the 242 products listed in ITO's Istanbul Wage Earners' Living Index, 91 products saw an increase in retail prices, while 25 products had decreased prices, and 126 products remained unchanged.

FRESH GREEN BEANS INCREASED BY 26.99% IN DECEMBER 2024
In December, Fresh Green Beans, which fall under the Food Expenditures subgroup of Fresh Vegetables and Fruits, had the highest price increase at 26.99%.

Some other products that experienced price increases include; Cabbage from the Food Expenditures subgroup of Fresh Vegetables and Fruits with an increase of 24.28%, Newspaper from the Culture, Education, and Entertainment subgroup with an increase of 21.18%, Lettuce from the Food Expenditures subgroup of Fresh Vegetables and Fruits with an increase of 15.03%, Green Onions with an increase of 14.94%, Fresh Grapes with an increase of 14.20%, and Chocolate from the Various and Ready-to-Eat Foods subgroup with an increase of 11.22%.

TOMATOES DECREASED BY 21.97% IN DECEMBER 2024
In December 2024, Tomatoes, which belong to the Food Expenditures group of Fresh Vegetables and Fruits, had the highest price decrease at -21.97%.

Other products that saw a decrease in price include; Cauliflower from the same group with a decrease of -12.85%, Cucumbers with -11.91%, Zucchini with -10.54%, Oranges with -9.89%, and Spinach with -8.32%.
