Portugal and Ireland Poised to Become First Eurozone Members to Issue Bonds This Year

Forex - Magnus Poulsen from Danske Bank stated that Ireland and Portugal are generally the first to enter the market in the Eurozone, and this trend may continue this year as well.

"Next week is expected to be very busy," Poulsen said, predicting that Eurozone governments will launch an intensive government bond issuance program next week.

Since government bond issuances are typically front-loaded, the bond supply in the first quarter, especially in January and February, is often high due to a large number of syndication transactions accompanying the planned bond auctions.
