President Erdoğan's New Year Message
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized in his New Year message that they are working towards a Turkey without terrorism, highlighting their determination to increase citizens' purchasing power and compensate for the loss of welfare. Erdoğan expressed hope and expectations about the country's future, saying, "We ask for a little more patience."
In a video message released while welcoming the year 2025, Erdoğan wished that the new year would bring blessings for the country and all humanity. He commemorated the martyrs with mercy over the past year and extended gratitude to the veterans. Erdoğan stated, "We will bind together more tightly," indicating that unity and solidarity would strengthen further in 2025.
Erdoğan noted that as a nation, solidarity and unity would become even stronger in 2025, mentioning that the previous year had witnessed critical developments for Turkey and its surroundings. He described the local elections as a celebration of democracy, emphasizing that the will of the people was freely manifested during this process. Erdoğan thanked citizens for the election victories, stating that democracy had won.
He highlighted significant economic achievements despite the crises that erupted in the region and mentioned that important steps had been taken to revive the earthquake-affected areas. Erdoğan underscored that efforts would continue with increased momentum in the new year.
Erdoğan confirmed that the decline in inflation would ensure reaching the 2025 targets, stating that they would focus on policies that enhance purchasing power to compensate for the loss of welfare. He reiterated the commitment to combating exorbitant prices in essential areas such as housing, rent, and food, while expressing the need to avoid past populist rhetoric.
The president emphasized that, just as they had solved the country's problems over the last 22 years, they would also overcome economic difficulties. Erdoğan requested a little more patience and understanding from citizens.
Stating that a new era in Syria was on the horizon in the last weeks of 2024, Erdoğan announced that Turkey would provide the necessary support to achieve lasting peace. He expressed that the voluntary return of Syrian refugees would become easier and thanked citizens for their hospitality.
Erdoğan stated that Turkey has given its strongest response to end the massacres in Gaza and emphasized that they are making significant efforts to establish peace in Palestine. He mentioned that they would work towards the establishment of a Palestinian state by 2025 and support an independent Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem.
Expressing that the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine with a just peace is among their primary objectives, Erdoğan hoped for the beginning of a new era in the Black Sea in 2025, stressing Turkey's important role in these diplomatic processes.
Erdoğan identified the fortification of the domestic front as the most important agenda item for Turkey. He declared that they would take determined steps to realize a Turkey and a region free from terrorism in 2025, stating they would not hesitate to use the power of the state when necessary. He expressed hope to announce new good news to the nation in the new year, again emphasizing Turkey's strength and determination.
