DenizLeasing Secures €20 Million Loan from EFSE and GGF
DenizLeasing has signed a total loan agreement of 20 million Euros, with 10 million Euros aimed at supporting SMEs and agriculture through the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE), and the other 10 million Euros sourced from the Green Growth Fund (GGF) for financing resource efficiency and renewable energy projects.
Burak Koçak, General Manager of DenizLeasing, commented on the matter, stating, “As DenizLeasing, we have made it our mission to play a role in financing renewable energy due to our responsibilities towards future generations, caused by climate change, population growth, and limited resources. Currently, renewable energy projects account for 13% of our balance sheet, primarily comprised of solar energy and industrial-commercial rooftop solar projects. We aim to increase this share to 20% in the coming years. In this understanding, we have intensified our efforts to provide long-term and cost-effective financing for this sector. We will utilize the 10 million Euros credit obtained from GGF to finance projects that emphasize energy efficiency. On the other hand, we also focus on financing SMEs, which sustain the national economy, and supporting agricultural production activities in our country. Thanks to our strong collaborations established with agricultural equipment manufacturers and suppliers, 7% of our transaction volume in 2024 will come from agriculture, featuring smart greenhouses, modern milking facilities, combine harvester investments, and machinery for harvesting, baling, and silage, which will play a significant role in the mechanization and digitalization of agriculture and enhance productivity. We will use the 10 million Euros credit we obtained from EFSE to help SMEs access the resources they need along with agriculture. In the upcoming period, we will continue our efforts to support the green transition, as well as help producers and SMEs grow their businesses.”
