China to Decrease Dollar, Euro, and Yen Weights in CFETS Yuan Basket by 2025

Foreks - In a recent statement, China's foreign exchange trading platform announced that it will adjust the weights of the yuan CFETS basket in 2025. The China Foreign Exchange Trading System (CFETS), supervised by the central bank, will reduce the weight of the US dollar in the CFETS currency basket from 19.46% to 18.903% starting January 1. The euro's weight will be decreased from 18.08% to 17.902%, and the yen's weight will be lowered from 8.963% to 8.584%. By adding Macao's pataca to the basket, the total number of currencies in the CFETS basket will increase to 25 next year.
