Google/Pichai: AI Model Gemini Will Be the Company's 'Major Focus' in 2025

Forex - Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) CEO Sundar Pichai reportedly informed Google employees that 2025 will be a "critical" year for the company.

According to CNBC, Pichai and other executives were recorded during a strategy meeting on December 18, where they donned ugly holiday sweaters and outlined their priorities for the upcoming year.

Pichai stated, "I think 2025 will be critical. I believe it is really important for us to internalize the urgency of this moment and for us to move faster as a company. The stakes are high."

He acknowledged that there are certain areas where the company needs to improve regarding artificial intelligence, describing the Gemini application (based on the company's namesake AI model) as having a "strong momentum," and added, "We have some work to do to close the gap and establish a leadership position there by 2025."

Pichai noted, "Scaling Gemini on the consumer side will be our biggest focus next year."
