Tesla's Shanghai Energy Storage Factory Begins Trial Production

According to an announcement made by China on Tuesday, Tesla's energy storage gigafactory in Shanghai has begun trial production. The Shanghai energy storage superfactory was built over a period of seven months. The project is expected to start mass production in the first quarter of 2025. Following production, the ultra-large energy storage battery Megapack will reach approximately 10,000 units with an energy storage capacity of about 40 GWh, and the product will be supplied to the global market. Tesla's Shanghai Energy Storage Gigafactory is Tesla's first energy storage project outside of the United States.
