AKOM Warns of Heavy Rain Starting Tomorrow Morning in Istanbul

Foreks - AKOM announced that a low-pressure system coming from the Central Mediterranean is expected to be effective throughout the Marmara Region, especially in Istanbul. Starting from 10:00 AM on Monday, heavy rainfall is anticipated across the European side and primarily around the Bosphorus on the Asian side.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Management Department, AKOM, has warned about scattered thunderstorms and downpours that will be effective in Istanbul starting tomorrow morning. Accordingly, due to the low-pressure system transporting warm and humid air from the south to the Marmara Region, temperatures are expected to be above seasonal averages, hovering around 14-17 degrees Celsius. However, from the morning hours of Monday (10:00 AM), heavy rainfall, with local heavy downpours (20-40 kg/m²), is forecasted across the European side and primarily around the Bosphorus on the Asian side.

IT IS EXPECTED TO LAST UNTIL WEDNESDAY EVENING According to the warning from AKOM, it is expected that the rainfall will continue to be intermittently effective in Istanbul until Wednesday evening. It is crucial to be prepared and cautious against potential adverse conditions due to the locally expected heavy rainfall.
