"Work Begins on the Super High-Speed Train Set to Travel from Istanbul to Ankara in 80 Minutes"
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the launch of an important project aimed at enhancing Turkey's transportation infrastructure. Work has begun on the Super High-Speed Train project, which will cover a distance of 344 kilometers from Ankara to Istanbul, capable of speeds up to 350 kilometers per hour. This project is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two major cities.
Minister Uraloğlu indicated that existing transportation facilities have become inadequate, necessitating the Super High-Speed Train project to meet this demand. Once completed, the travel time between Ankara and Istanbul will be only 80 minutes. This will further strengthen the economic and social connections between the two cities and enhance the comfort of travelers. The project is expected to be completed within approximately 10 years.
Additionally, Minister Uraloğlu stated that Turkey's national satellite, Türksat 6A, will soon be placed into orbit. Türksat 6A will expand Turkey's coverage in civilian and military communication as well as television broadcasting. This step will position Turkey stronger and more securely within the global communication network.
It was emphasized that Türksat 6A will increase its coverage from 3.5 billion people worldwide to nearly 5 billion. This expansion will significantly boost Turkey’s communication capacity on the international stage. Uraloğlu noted that, barring any setbacks, the satellite is set to be operational within a few days of its launch. These initiatives are seen as a major turning point in Turkey’s technological advancement.
