Toyota's Production Declined While Sales Surged in November

Forex - Toyota Motor's global production declined for the tenth consecutive month in November, but worldwide sales rose for the second month in a row due to strong demand in the US and China. The world's largest automaker produced 869,230 vehicles globally in November, experiencing a 6.2% decrease compared to the same month last year, which was a larger decline than the 0.8% drop in October.

Toyota's production in the US fell by 11.8%, although production of the Grand Highlander and Lexus TX SUV models resumed slowly at the end of October after a four-month hiatus. Production in China decreased by 1.6%, but this decline was an improvement from the previous month's 9% drop, supported by increased local sales of Toyota's Granvia and Sienna minivan models and the jointly developed electric sedan bZ3 with BYD 002594.SZ.

In Japan, which accounts for about one-third of Toyota's global production, output decreased by 9.3% in November, partly due to a two-day production halt at the Fujimatsu and Yoshiwara plants. Toyota raised its worldwide sales by 1.7% for the second consecutive month, reaching 920,569 vehicles and setting a new record for November.

From January to November, Toyota's global production fell by 5.2% year-on-year to approximately 8.75 million vehicles, while global sales decreased by 1.2%. The production and sales figures include Toyota's Lexus brand vehicles but exclude the vehicles of its subsidiaries Hino 7205.T and Daihatsu.
