Kazakhstan Set to Join BRICS on January 1st
Foreks - The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Aibek Smadiyarov, stated in an interview with Interfax that Kazakhstan will gain BRICS partner status on January 1. Smadiyarov responded to a question about whether Kazakhstan will join BRICS by saying, "We can confirm this information." Earlier, Russia's Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Alexey Borodavkin, mentioned that 13 countries, including Kazakhstan, had been invited to join the BRICS alliance as partner states. BRICS, an international bloc composed of emerging economies, currently has 10 members: Russia, China, Brazil, South Africa, India, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia.
