Chinese Foreign Ministry: "The U.S. Ramps Up Its China Threat Rhetoric Every Year"
Forex - Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning expressed Beijing's thoughts following U.S. President Joe Biden's signing of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act, which contains negative language regarding China. During a press briefing, she noted that the U.S. "escalates the 'China threat' narrative every year."
The spokesperson highlighted that "Washington has been creating a ruckus over military support for Taiwan, misusing its national power to suppress China's scientific, technological, and economic development, restricting China-U.S. economic, trade, and people-to-people exchanges, and harming China's sovereignty, security, and development interests," adding that Beijing is not pleased with this and "absolutely opposes" it.
Mao Ning called on the U.S. to move past its "Cold War mentality" and to view the relationship between the two countries in an "objective and rational" manner.
