Shopping Mall Square Meter Efficiency Index Rose by 49.5% Year-on-Year in November
The results of the Shopping Mall Index, jointly created by the Foreks - Association of Shopping Centers and Investors (AYD) and Akademetre Research, for November have been announced.
According to the index, in November 2024, it increased nominally by 49.5% compared to the same month of the previous year.
The statement noted: "According to regularly published data, the revenue index for November 2024 increased by 49.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 3895 points when examined without adjusting for inflation. Considering that the annual inflation rate announced for November 2024 is 47.09%, it is evident that the increase in the square meter productivity index is above inflation.

The revenue per rentable square meter in shopping malls in November was 14,849 TL across Turkey, while it was 17,541 TL in Istanbul and 13,055 TL in Anatolia.
Category-Based Revenue Index
Compared to the previous year’s November, the largest increase in the index was seen in the food and beverage category with 64.3%. In other categories, there was an increase of 53.7%, 50.7% in clothing, 50.3% in hypermarkets, 47.9% in footwear, and 43.8% in technology.
An increase of 14.6% in the other category, 8% in clothing, 7.6% in food and beverages, 4.5% in hypermarkets, and 4.4% was observed.
Visitor Count Index
The November 2024 data showed a 1% increase in the visitor count index compared to the same month of the previous year. In November 2024, an increase of 4% in the visitor count index was observed compared to the previous month, October 2024.
