EN-VERIM 100 Report: Renewable Energy Investments in 2023 Focused on Solar and Wind Projects
The EN-VERİM 100 research, conducted for the first time this year, examined Turkey's performance in energy efficiency and its innovative projects. The data related to Renewable Energy and Efficiency Increasing Projects (VAP) included in the research were analyzed and interpreted by EPSOL Consulting.
It was stated in the announcement: "The EN-VERİM 100 research focused on companies' renewable energy investments and activities under VAP through questions in the 'renewable energy' section.
Analysis Method Only companies that fully shared investment cost and installed power (MW) data were included in the analysis; those providing incomplete data were excluded. Although the analysis primarily consisted of main cost items such as design and engineering, land acquisition, supply and installation of electromechanical systems, and construction, other cost components were also considered.
Renewable Energy Projects Renewable energy investments contributed to a total of 117 MW of installed power against an investment of 2.98 billion TL. Solar energy projects were predominant in this sector, while wind energy was represented by a single project. Solar Energy: 111 MW of installed power capacity was reached with an investment of 2.68 billion TL. Iskur Tekstil Enerji Tic. ve San. A.Ş. and Toyotetsu Otomotiv Parçaları San. ve Tic. A.Ş. were among the prominent companies in this field. Wind Energy: It stood out with 6 MW of installed power capacity against an investment of 304 million TL. Estaş Eksantrik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. undertakes the only project in this category.
Efficiency Increasing Projects (VAP) VAP projects aimed at improving energy efficiency in industrial plants contribute with a total of 26 projects against an investment of 605 million TL. The petrochemicals and industrial sectors are noteworthy leaders in this area. Petkim Petrokimya (IS:PETKM) Holding A.Ş. ranks first on the list with an investment of 322 million TL. Star Rafineri A.Ş. realized an investment of 104 million TL, while Aksa Akrilik (IS:AKSA) Kimya Sanayii A.Ş. is involved with an investment of 34 million TL.
Other Projects The "Other" category includes three projects corresponding to a total investment of 11 million TL. Companies from various sectors stand out in this category: Yataş (IS:YATAS) Yatak ve Yorgan San. Tic. A.Ş. ranks first with an investment of 8 million TL. Odelo Otomotiv Aydınlatma A.Ş. appears in the list with an investment of 3 million TL.
