Turkey's Natural Gas Imports Increased by 17.69% in October

In October, Turkey's natural gas import volume increased by 17.69% compared to the same month last year. According to a report published by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), natural gas imports were 3 billion 952.22 million Sm3 in October of last year, rising to 3 billion 358.23 million Sm3 in the same month this year.

Of the imports, 366.23 million Sm3 were LNG, while 3 billion 585.99 million Sm3 were pipeline gas. The share of LNG was 9.27%, and the share of pipeline gas was 90.73%. In that month, Turkey only purchased LNG from Algeria, while pipeline gas was sourced from Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia.

Natural gas production increased by 63.17% to 227.78 million Sm3, while exports decreased by 45.46% to 136.15 million Sm3. Turkey's natural gas consumption slightly decreased by 0.02%, amounting to 3 billion 144.96 million Sm3. In the same month last year, consumption stood at 3 billion 145.70 million Sm3.

As of the end of October, stocks were recorded at 5 billion 163.18 million Sm3, a decrease of 4.13%. At the end of October last year, stocks were at 5 billion 385.74 million Sm3.
