Assessing Karpowership's Provision of Electricity to Syria
Karpowership, the owner of Turkey's floating power plant fleet, stated that it is one of the many alternatives being considered to supply electricity to Syria. Following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad by Turkey-supported rebels this month, after 13 years of civil war, discussions are taking place between the country's new rulers and Ankara regarding electricity supply. When asked by Reuters whether Karpowership is involved in electricity supply negotiations, the company responded, "Many energy production alternatives are being evaluated. We are one of these alternatives."
