Economic Confidence Index Reaches Highest Level in 8 Months
In November, the economic confidence index was 97.1, and in December, it increased by 1.8% to reach a value of 98.8. Thus, the index has reached its highest level since the 99.0 points observed in April. According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the consumer confidence index increased by 1.9% to 81.3 in December compared to the previous month, the real sector (manufacturing industry) confidence index decreased by 0.7% to 102.7, the services sector confidence index increased by 2.4% to 113.6, the retail trade sector confidence index rose by 1.2% to 113.0, and the construction sector confidence index increased by 1.9% to 89.4.
