UPDATE-TANKER REPORT - Bosphorus Straits Closed to Transit Passages Due to Tanker Malfunction

Due to a malfunction of the tanker named Cordelia Moon while en route from Yalova to Russia, the ship traffic in the Istanbul Strait has been temporarily suspended in both directions near Yeniköy. According to information obtained by Foreks News, the Panama-flagged tanker, which measures 274 meters in length, experienced an engine failure while crossing the Strait near Yeniköy. The General Directorate of Coastal Safety (KEGM) dispatched Salvage tugs 8 and 11 for assistance. Traffic in the Strait was halted at 13:55.
