Domestic Residents' Foreign Currency Deposits Decrease by $1.64 Billion
Forex - The foreign currency deposits of domestic residents decreased by $1.638.1 billion in one week.
According to data announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB), the foreign currency deposits of domestic residents, which were $164.159.3 billion in the previous week, fell to $162.621.2 billion in the week ending December 20.
The foreign currency deposits of real persons decreased by $1.215.4 billion compared to the previous week, reaching $102.103.4 billion, while the deposits of legal entities dropped by $422.7 million to $60.417.8 billion.
The total foreign currency deposits of domestic residents, adjusted for exchange rate effects, decreased by $180 million. When adjusting for exchange rate effects, the foreign currency deposits of real persons declined by $78 million, while the deposits of legal entities decreased by $102 million.
