Aiguang Peng noted, "We take great pride in participating in this project, which applies 5G for digital transformation in critical areas like sustainable agriculture, driven by a shared vision with Türk Telekom. With the increasing prevalence and expansion of 5G applications, we believe that the digitization of agriculture will play a significant role in future food production and resource management. This initiative will contribute to the agricultural modernization and industrial development of Turkey."
In the initial 5G agriculture field, precise processes were carried out autonomously.
As part of the project, Türk Telekom and ZTE established a high-speed, low-latency 5G network in the region, integrating this network with advanced technologies such as drones and smart agricultural machines. With the connectivity provided by the 5G network, local drones now perform tasks like automatic pesticide and fertilizer spraying and precise irrigation for efficient water usage. Additionally, farmers adopting autonomous driving technology can automate the planting and harvesting processes, particularly during peak agricultural seasons. As the spread of 5G smart agricultural technologies is planned for more regions, goals of efficiency and resource conservation in agriculture are targeted.
Significant reduction in energy consumption, notable increases in user speeds and energy efficiency
Türk Telekom integrated ZTE's next-generation wireless products, which enhance data speeds, into the commercial 5G network launched in Çorum. This collaboration supports Türk Telekom's vision of strengthening 5G infrastructure and accelerating digital transformation in Turkey while establishing an energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and advanced 5G network aimed at improving operational efficiency and providing users with a faster and uninterrupted digital experience. The pilot project implemented in Çorum has shown a significant reduction in energy consumption and marked increases in user speeds and power efficiency.
