Contemporary Glass Aims to Launch New Production Lines in the First Half of 2025
Foreks - Çağdaş Cam, which is among the companies with the first design center in the glass sector in Turkey and the largest glass processing capacity in Europe, has initiated new investments that will accelerate the company's global journey. The company aims to increase capacity at its facilities in Manisa OSB and Aydın Kuyucak while launching new production lines that will respond to future needs in the first half of 2025.
Having started its industrial journey nearly half a century ago, Çağdaş Cam, one of Turkey's leading glass processing companies, announced two new investments following its successful initial public offering. Aiming to become one of the leading glass processors in global glass supply chains, Çağdaş Cam is increasing its capacity and investing in new production lines that will meet future product needs.
"When our investments are operational, we anticipate an increase in export revenue," said Serdar Raşit Pirinç, a member of the Board of Directors of Çağdaş Cam. "We are processing energy glass at world-class standards in Manisa OSB and serving major players in the industry. We are one of the rare companies in Europe with the capability to process solar glass as thin as 2 mm. We are starting our investment in a new production line that will increase our production capacity for 2 mm glass used in bifacial panels by 40%. With this new production line, equipped with high technology and technical facilities, we aim to meet the future needs of products for the Turkish solar panel industry.
In Aydın Kuyucak, we primarily process glass for household and commercial white goods. We have also initiated a new production line to increase our production capacity at our facility, which has the first design center in the glass sector in Turkey. With this investment, we will increase our insulated glass production capacity, which provides high energy savings, by 60%. We will implement an efficient line compatible with coated glass and multilayer glass types that are changing in the white goods sector. We aim to launch both of our investments in the first half of 2025. We anticipate that these investments will enhance our efficiency and support our value-added production, accelerating our growth on the international stage and increasing our export revenue."
The company, rapidly strengthening its position in energy glass processing, continues to receive orders from both domestic and international markets. Recently, the company received an order for solar panel glass worth 203 million TL from Smart Güneş (IS:SMRTG) Technologies. The delivery of the products is targeted for the first quarter of 2025.
