Istanbul Stock Exchange Kicks Off the Day with Gains: Which Stocks Stealed the Spotlight at Open?

The BIST 100 index started the day with a 0.47% increase at 9,962.46 points. The BIST 100 closed the previous day with a 2.52% rise at 9,916.22 points. During the day, the index saw a low of 9,832.73 and a high of 9,934.90 points, surpassing 290 dollars in dollar terms.

Yesterday, the banking index led the market with a significant increase of 6.47%. In the BIST 100, 83 stocks rose while 15 stocks declined. The daily trading volume remained low at nearly 59.2 billion TL, accounting for 71.27% of the total volume. Today, with the focus on the Central Bank of Turkey's interest rate decision and the messages to be conveyed in the announcement text, the stock market is observed to have started positively. After the initial trades, the index continues to rise, moving towards the 10,000 threshold.

In the domestic currency market, USD/TRY is trading at 34.25 and EUR/TRY at 35.65, exhibiting a moderate upward trend. Gold per gram opened the day with an increase of nearly half a point, finding buyers at 2,976 TL.
