Positive "Environmental Impact Assessment" Decision Issued for Toros Agricultural's Quarry and Crushing Screening Facility Capacity Expansion Project

Foreks - An "Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) positive" decision has been made regarding the limestone quarry and crushing-screening facility capacity increase project planned by Toros Agriculture in Mersin.

In a statement posted on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment Permit and Audit, the following information was provided:

"The EIA Report submitted to our Ministry concerning the limestone quarry (I.R. 74225, E.R. 3130435) and the capacity increase of the crushing-screening facility, as well as the Class II (phosphogypsum) non-hazardous waste regulated landfill facility project planned by TOROS TARIM SANAYİ VE TİCARET A.Ş. within the borders of Parmakkurdu Village, Mersin province, Mediterranean district, has been examined and evaluated by the Commission for EIA Report Review. In accordance with Article 14 of the EIA Regulation, the commission's work and public opinions were taken into account, and our Ministry has granted a 'Positive Environmental Impact Assessment' decision; the decision must be announced to the public by the Mersin Governorship (Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanism, and Climate Change). Additionally, compliance with the relevant provisions of the regulations enacted under the Environmental Law No. 2872, as well as obtaining the necessary permits from relevant institutions/organizations in accordance with the current legislation, is required regarding the final EIA report and the matters specified in its annexes."
