Ford Motor Appoints New Quality Chief to Address Quality Issues

Investing.com -- Ford Motor confirmed on Wednesday that it will appoint a new quality chief. This change is part of Ford's efforts to improve its recall record and reduce warranty costs. Jim Baumbick, who has been overseeing the quality control team since late 2022, will hand over his duties to a successor whose name has not yet been disclosed. Baumbick will then focus on managing the Electric Vehicle (EV) programs. His responsibilities will also include overseeing the vehicle programs team, which is responsible for tracking vehicle costs and timelines. This team also manages product development operations. This role change, which was announced internally to some Ford employees last week, is expected to be implemented in early next year. A spokesperson for Ford stated that these changes will enable teams to "collaborate and work more efficiently to deliver the highest quality exciting vehicles and software for our customers."
