Qatar Energy Minister: "I’m Not Too Concerned About Trump's Promises to Lift LNG Export Limits"
Foreks - Qatar's Energy Minister stated that he is not overly concerned about U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's promise to lift restrictions on liquefied natural gas exports. "There will be additional gas needed, whether it comes from the U.S., Qatar, or elsewhere. Therefore, additional LNG and additional competition will be welcomed," said Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Qatar's Energy Minister and CEO of the state gas company QatarEnergy. He added, "If you open the way for LNG, you can say we will export an additional 300-500 million tons from the U.S. All these projects are being undertaken by private initiatives looking at the commercial viability of the projects, and there will be a limit. Everything will depend on supply, demand, and the long-term outlook of these companies," and remarked, "I am not too worried about this."
