Dardanel Launches New Sushi Factory in Greece, Begins Production

After the success achieved with its first packaged sushi brand, Sushida, in Turkey, Dardanel has begun sushi production by adding another investment in Greece. By acquiring Kallimanis, a well-established seafood brand in Greece, through its subsidiary Dardanel Greece in 2021, Dardanel has increased its influence in the Mediterranean and European markets. With new investments, it is enriching Kallimanis’s product variety with innovative offerings, thereby strengthening its position in international markets. Dardanel Greece has launched its third factory in Greece with the commencement of operations at the sushi factory, which has been under investment for the past year. Established on an area of 2,200 square meters, the factory is equipped with modern production technologies and has an annual production capacity of 15 million sushi pieces. This investment, which stands out as an important step in Dardanel's growth strategy in international markets, aims for a revenue target of 50 million euros through sales in both Greece and neighboring European countries.

Niyazi Önen, the founder and chairman of Dardanel, stated regarding the matter, “We are excited to offer our packaged sushi products under the Sushida Kallimanis brand to consumers both in Greece and neighboring countries by adding another investment to our endeavors in Greece. The sushi category is growing globally and has high growth potential. Our investment will enable us to capture a larger share of the international market in the sushi category.”
