Alarko Unveils Responsible Communication Policy
Foreks - The Alarko Companies Group, which takes into account environmental and social impacts in all its processes and evaluates opportunities to create positive effects by managing relevant risks, actively contributes to the UN Global Compact principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through its brand/marketing communications and social responsibility projects.
In line with the 2050 Net Zero Emission targets and responsible investment principles, Alarko realizes all its new investments with sustainability principles and takes decisive steps for the effective participation of women in the economy as a signatory of the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). The Group, which determines common goals with its affiliated companies within the framework of compliance with international and local regulations, emphasizes measuring the impact of its actions, sharing sustainability results transparently with its stakeholders, and continuously setting new targets to raise the bar of success.
Progressing with this approach, the Alarko Companies Group is now taking a new step and highlighting the impact power of multi-company institutions in combating greenwashing as the first Holding to publish a Responsible Communication Policy in Turkey.
Ümit Nuri Yıldız, CEO of the Alarko Companies Group, commented on the published policy, stating, "We believe that large companies should be role models in the climate struggle, which is critical for our planet and our societies. As Alarko, while carrying out all our new investments with a sustainability focus, we are bringing many sustainable practices to our country, including technology transfer in key sectors such as agriculture, aviation, industry, and energy storage. We take pride in being the first Holding in Turkey to publish a 'Responsible Communication Policy,' a practice that is still quite new worldwide, during our 70th anniversary when our brand identity and logo have been renewed. We hope this pioneering step of the Alarko Companies Group in preventing greenwashing in the business world will set an example for our multi-company institutions.”
Acting with the awareness that every step taken has the power to directly or indirectly impact a broad ecosystem, Alarko manages all its brand and marketing communication activities with an integrated thinking approach. Alarko emphasizes its commitment not only to environmental responsibility but also to gender equality, equal opportunities, ethical management, and inclusive communication language in line with the Responsible Communication Policy.
