"Positive EIA Decision Granted for Smart GES Energy's Anchor Storage Solar Project"

A "positive" decision for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been granted for the Floating Solar Power Plant project planned by Smart GES Enerji.

The following information was provided in a statement on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit and Audit:

"The project for the Floating Solar Power Plant (SES 45 MWm/35 MWe-66.8 ha ? EDT 35 MWe/35 MWh) is planned to be constructed by SMART (IS:SMART) GES ENERGY PRODUCTION JOINT STOCK COMPANY within the boundaries of parcels 400-244 located in Çapalı Neighborhood, Şahinbey district, GAZIANTEP province. The EIA Report submitted to our Ministry has been reviewed and evaluated by the Commission for the Review of EIA Reports. In accordance with Article 14 of the EIA Regulation, taking into account the Commission's work and public opinions, our Ministry has granted a 'Positive Environmental Impact Assessment' Decision; this decision must be announced to the public by the GAZIANTEP Governorate (Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change). Additionally, compliance with the relevant provisions of the regulations enacted pursuant to the Environmental Law No. 2872, as well as obtaining the necessary permits from relevant institutions/organizations, is required in accordance with the applicable legislation."
