Eli Lilly Invests $3 Billion to Expand Wisconsin Plant

Eli Lilly is allocating an additional $3 billion to boost production while trying to increase the output of some blockbuster drugs and future products. The company announced that it will expand a facility in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, acquired earlier this year, and the investment will help meet the rising demand for injectable products such as diabetes and obesity medications Mounjaro and Zepbound. In the third quarter of this year, Lilly reported $4 billion in sales. The pharmaceutical manufacturer plans to begin construction for the expansion next year. Additionally, Lilly announced several other multi-billion dollar production expansion projects near its headquarters in Indianapolis earlier this year. Since 2020, Eli Lilly and Co. stated that it has allocated over $23 billion for building, expanding, or acquiring manufacturing facilities worldwide.
