TESK/Palandöken: Reducing Incentives for Contributions Will Strain Small Businesses
Forex - In a legislative proposal presented to the Grand National Assembly, the President of the Turkish Confederation of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Bendevi Palandöken, noted that the five-point premium incentive that has been consistently provided since 2008 should continue, stating, "With the law proposal submitted to the Parliament, reducing the insurance premium support provided to employers who pay their taxes and premiums regularly from five points to four points will impose an average monthly burden of 400 TL per person on employers."
Palandöken conveyed that the five-point premium incentive for the manufacturing industry will continue until the end of 2026, adding, "Article 173 of the Constitution states, ‘The State shall take protective and supportive measures for tradesmen and craftsmen.’ While our tradesmen and craftsmen are experiencing economic difficulties during this period, it is unfair to prioritize the protection of larger entities, namely the manufacturing sector. The 5% premium support provided to employers who pay their taxes and premiums regularly must definitely continue. In fact, we, as TESK, previously requested that the SGK premium incentive be increased to 10%."
