Intel Appoints Two Former Semiconductor Chiefs to Its Board of Directors

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) Corp announced the appointment of two experienced semiconductor industry leaders to its board of directors as independent directors. One of the appointees, Eric Meurice, has a significant background in the industry, having served as president, CEO, and chairman of ASML Holding.

Meurice's experience at ASML spans from 2004 to 2013 and includes leadership roles at other prominent technology firms such as Dell, ITT Semiconductors, and Intel.

Joining Meurice in the most recent board expansion is Steve Sanghi, the chairman and interim CEO of Microchip Technology. Sanghi has a long-standing connection with Microchip Technology, having served as the company's CEO from 1991 to 2021.

His expertise in the industry has been further solidified through previous roles, including Vice President of Operations at Waferscale Integration Inc. and various management positions at Intel.
