Market Outlook: Bitcoin Could Target $200,000 by the End of 2025
Geoff Kendrick from Standard Chartered stated that Bitcoin inflows have been dominated by institutional investors this year, and this trend should continue as the cryptocurrency potentially reaches $200,000 by the end of 2025 after surpassing $100,000 overnight. Kendrick argued that institutions have purchased 683,000 bitcoins year-to-date through significant acquisitions via U.S. spot exchange-traded funds and software group MicroStrategy, with 245,000 of these purchases occurring after the U.S. presidential elections. “In 2025, we expect institutional flows to continue at the pace of 2024 or above,” Kendrick said. MicroStrategy is ahead of its three-year purchasing plan. Retirement funds represent a small portion of ETF Bitcoin assets but are expected to increase in 2025 due to anticipated U.S. regulatory changes.
