Şişecam's Special Cultural Facility Project Cancelled Due to Negative Feedback from Gebze Municipality Planning/Project Directorate

The special cultural facility area project planned by Şişecam (IS:SISE) has been cancelled due to the negative opinion of the Gebze Municipality Planning and Project Department.

The following information was provided in a statement on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit, and Inspection:

"The Special Cultural Facility Area project planned to be established by ŞİŞECAM TÜRKİYE ŞİŞE VE CAM FABRİKALARI A.Ş. within the boundaries of Çayırova Neighborhood, Gebze District, Kocaeli Province has been cancelled.

The project presentation file related to the 'SPECIAL CULTURAL FACILITY AREA' project, which is planned to be operated by ŞİŞECAM TÜRKİYE ŞİŞE VE CAM FABRİKALARI A.Ş. on an area of 21,558.87 m2 in Çayırova Neighborhood, Gebze District, was submitted to our Governorship through the e-ÇED system.

The opinions of the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Department and the Gebze Municipality regarding the planned project were requested to be communicated to our Provincial Directorate.

Since the institutional opinion of the Gebze Municipality Planning and Project Department was negative, the said project has been cancelled."
