Meta to Establish a $10 Billion AI Data Center in Louisiana

Foreks - Meta, the primary shareholder of Facebook, plans to establish its largest artificial intelligence data center to date in Louisiana. The company hopes that the $10 billion facility will transform an economically neglected corner of the state. Louisiana is among a growing number of states offering tax credits and other incentives to attract major technology firms searching for locations for energy-intensive data centers. The U.S. Department of Commerce identified a lack of sufficient data centers to meet the burgeoning demand driven by AI, which is projected to grow at 9% annually in the U.S. by 2030, according to industry reports. Kevin Janda, the director of data center strategy, stated that Meta's Louisiana data center is expected to create 500 operational jobs and 5,000 temporary construction positions. Janda also added that this data center, at 4 million square feet (370,000 square meters), will be the company's largest AI data center to date.
