Macron to Address the Nation Today Following the Fall of Barnier's Government in France
Forex - Following the fall of Prime Minister Michel Barnier's government in a no-confidence vote in parliament yesterday, President Emmanuel Macron will address the nation today.
The Élysée Palace announced that President Emmanuel Macron will deliver a televised speech at 8:00 PM local time.
Barnier's government was ousted by the votes of 331 parliamentarians. This marks the first time since 1962 that a prime minister in France has been removed through a no-confidence vote. Barnier also became the shortest-serving prime minister in French history, with a tenure of just 90 days.
Barnier will remain in office until the selection of his successor by President Emmanuel Macron.
