Fed/Daly: No Need to Rush, We'll Continue to Calibrate Our Policy Carefully

Forex - San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly stated that there is no sense of urgency to cut interest rates and emphasized that officials can "carefully calibrate" the policy. In an interview with PBS News Hour, Daly said, "There is no need for haste. There is no sense of urgency, but we need to continue to carefully calibrate our policy and ensure it is consistent with the economy we have today and the one we expect to have in the future." Daly also added that policymakers would discuss the best course of action at the Fed's meeting in Washington on December 17-18. This year, Daly, who holds voting rights on the Federal Open Market Committee that determines interest rates, did not indicate whether she would support a rate cut at the central bank's next meeting.
