The Number of Individuals Subjected to Legal Action Due to Personal Loan or Credit Card Debt Increased by 38% Year-Over-Year in October

In October 2024, the number of individuals who have faced legal action due to personal loans or credit card debts increased by 38% compared to the same month the previous year. From January to October 2024, the number of individuals facing legal action due to personal credit card debt was 1.110 million, while the number due to personal loan debt was 935,000. During the same January-October period in 2024, the number of individuals facing legal action due to personal loans or personal credit card debt rose to 1.504 million, reflecting a 38% increase compared to the same month the previous year. According to Risk Center data, by October 2024, the non-performing loans involving personal loans, including credit cards, reached 108 billion TL, marking a 137% increase compared to the same period the previous year.
