The Start Date for Minimum Wage Negotiations has Been Announced
Millions are focused on the minimum wage increase expected for 2025. Minister of Labor and Social Security, Işıkhan, made statements regarding the minimum wage increase. The countdown continues for the first meeting of a 15-member commission consisting of representatives from workers, employers, and the government.
Negotiations concerning the minimum wage increase for 2025 are expected to begin shortly. Minister Işıkhan stated to the press that the process will start on Tuesday and emphasized that the minimum wage issue is at the top of their agenda. The representatives in the commission will determine the increase rate considering the public's demands.
The public's anticipation regarding the increase rates has led to emerging predictions. The initial discussions are expected to start within a minimum range of 25-35%. Based on these expectations, it is projected that the minimum wage in 2025 will be between 20,402 TL and 23,802 TL. The aim is for the process to progress transparently and for a decision to be made that meets the expectations of the society.
Different scenarios regarding the increase rates are also being evaluated. It is mentioned that the minimum wage could rise to 20,402 TL with a 20% increase, 21,252 TL with a 25% increase, and 22,102 TL with a 30% increase. Other scenarios present possibilities of 22,502 TL with a 35% increase and 23,802 TL with a 40% increase.
All eyes are on whether workers, employers, and government representatives can reach a consensus to make a decision on the increase rate that the public is expecting.
