China Bans Export of Key Microchip Components to the U.S.
A ban indicates Beijing's intention to engage in a supply chain war by restricting the export of critical components used to manufacture valuable products such as weapons and semiconductors. The Ministry of Commerce of China announced that sales of gallium, germanium, antimony, and so-called super-hard materials to the United States will be immediately halted, citing their use for both military and civilian purposes. Graphite exports will also be subjected to stricter scrutiny.
