OİB: Automotive Industry's November Exports Reach $3.2 Billion with 2.3% Growth

According to OİB data, Turkey's automotive industry exports in November increased by 2.3% to reach $3 billion 241 million, making the sector again the leading contributor to Turkey's exports. The total exports of the automotive industry from January to November also rose by 6%, amounting to $33 billion 732 million.

OİB Chairman Baran Çelik stated, "In November, we recorded an export of $2.3 billion to EU countries, an increase of 9%. While passenger car exports rose by 20% and the supply industry exports increased by 7%, our largest market, France, also saw a 33% increase. However, our exports to Germany declined by 9%."

Based on the data from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OİB), the automotive sector's exports in November amounted to $3 billion 241 million, reflecting a 2.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The sector, which ranks first in Turkey's exports, accounted for a share of 16.6%. The total exports of the automotive industry for the 11-month period increased by 6%, reaching $33 billion 732 million.

OİB Chairman Baran Çelik commented, "In November, we recorded an export of $2.3 billion to EU countries, a 9% increase. While passenger car exports rose by 20% and the supply industry saw a 7% increase, our largest market, France, experienced a 33% increase. However, our exports to Germany dropped by 9%."

Supply industry exports rose by 7%. Last month, the export of the largest product group, the Supply Industry, increased by 7% to reach $1 billion 326 million. Passenger cars' exports rose by 20% to $1 billion 139 million, while exports of motor vehicles for the transport of goods decreased by 21% to $394 million. Exports of buses, minibuses, and midibuses fell by 13% to $236 million, and exports of tractors dropped by 48% to $90 million.

Germany was the leading country for exports in the Supply Industry, with exports to that country increasing by 7%. In significant markets, there was a 16% increase in exports to France, 65% to Romania, 17% to the USA, and 34% to Spain, while exports to Russia decreased by 47%.

In passenger cars, there were notable increases in key markets such as France (59%), Italy (126%), Poland (28%), Slovenia (167%), and Belgium (118%).

For motor vehicles for the transport of goods, exports to the United Kingdom fell by 11%, to Belgium by 22%, to Italy by 38%, to Germany by 15%, and to Spain by 14%.

In the product group of buses, minibuses, and midibuses, there was an export increase of 87% to France and 117% to the United Kingdom, whereas exports to Germany decreased by 63%, to Italy by 27%, and to Spain by 35%.

Exports to France increased by 33%. Last month, France became the largest country market with a 33% increase, totaling $393 million in exports. Exports to Germany declined by 9% to $393 million, while exports to Italy increased by 25% to $360 million. Additionally, exports to Slovenia rose by 53%, to Belgium by 25%, to the USA by 14%, to Romania by 16%, to Morocco by 16%, and to the Czech Republic by 13%. However, there were decreases in exports to Russia (45%), the Netherlands (41%), and Portugal (24%).

Exports to EU countries increased by 9% in November, with $2 billion 333 million recorded, representing a 72.4% share among country groups. Other European countries ranked second with an 11% share, while their exports decreased by 5%. Exports to the Commonwealth of Independent States saw a decline of 28%, to African countries by 27%, and to Middle Eastern countries by 31%.
