Meta's Founder Mark Zuckerberg Seeks Role in Trump Administration
Following Elon Musk, another billionaire entrepreneur, Mark Zuckerberg, is keen on playing an active role in the administration of Donald Trump, who will take office in January.
A spokesperson for Meta Platforms (META), Nick Clegg, stated that Zuckerberg is particularly eager to see artificial intelligence take a significant place in technology policy. Clegg commented, "Mark is willing to play an active role in the discussions that every administration needs to have to maintain America’s leadership in technology."
Zuckerberg's request for a role in technology policy is seen as a reflection of Meta's strong interest in artificial intelligence. Meta competes with Musk's company xAI in AI development. The two tech giants are vying against each other both commercially and on a personal level. Musk had previously invited Zuckerberg to a cage fight, but that event did not take place.
Musk is targeting the Department of Government Efficiency
On the other hand, Elon Musk is expected to head the Department of Government Efficiency that will be established under the new Trump administration. By taking on this role, Musk aims to reduce bureaucracy and increase efficiency. This strategy is inspired by the successes he has achieved in the business world.
These developments indicate that the two major figures in the tech world wish to compete not only in the commercial arena but also in the political field. Both Musk and Zuckerberg's interactions with the Trump administration hold significant clues regarding the future of technology policy in the United States.
