Russia Reiterates There is No Ground for Talks with Ukraine

Forex - In a statement regarding the increasing peace talks since Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential elections in November, Russia announced that there is still no groundwork for negotiations on how to end the war in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated Moscow's long-standing position on negotiations in an interview with Izvestia, stating, "There is still no groundwork for negotiations." Peskov added, "Many countries have declared their readiness to give up their territories. We are grateful to all countries, including Qatar, for their good intentions." Valentina Matviyenko, chairwoman of the Federation Council, the upper house of Russia's parliament, stated on Monday that initiatives could be made to begin peace talks with Ukraine in 2025.
