Central Bank Deputy Governor Akçay in London

Forex - TCMB Vice President Cevdet Akçay is in London again. After attending Citi's conference in London last week, Akçay is back this week for the BofA Merrill Lynch conference. This marks his second consecutive week in London.

According to Berfu Güven's report, this visit comes at a time when expectations for interest rate cuts are rising from the Central Bank, coinciding with the period immediately after the announcement of November inflation in Turkey.

Upon arriving in London yesterday evening, Akçay met with a group of investors. This morning, starting at eight o'clock London time, he is participating in BofA's "Emerging Markets - A Look Towards 2025" event.

The conference, which will last throughout the day, will focus on emerging markets, including Turkey. A general macroeconomic overview will precede the discussions, followed by a speech from Cevdet Akçay, moderated by BofA's Turkey economist Zümrüt İmamoğlu, covering "Turkey's Monetary Policy and Inflation Outlook."

Throughout the conference, after Turkey, the general outlooks for emerging Europe, Asia, China, and Latin America will be addressed in separate sessions, including an assessment of the new Trump administration's impact on developing countries. Expectations for 2025 and geopolitical risks will also be scrutinized.

It is expected that Akçay will meet with various investors in small groups throughout the day.
