BIST 100 Kicks Off the Day with a Rise: Which Stocks Stood Out at Opening?

The BIST 100 index started the day with a rise of 0.33% at 9,713.21 points.

In yesterday's trading, the BIST 100 index closed at 9,681.11 points with an increase of 0.3%. During the day, the index saw a low of 9,573.86 and a high of 9,703.24, with its price in dollars around 280.

In the BIST 100, 57 stocks gained value while 39 stocks lost value yesterday. The total trading volume of the stocks included in the BIST 100 reached 80.7 billion TL, accounting for 72.98% of the total trading volume on the exchange.

Following the announcement of November inflation figures, the index briefly declined to 9,660 points before reversing direction and stepping into the 9,800 band with a value increase of up to 1.5% in the first hour.

According to the November 2024 Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, annual inflation was reported at 47.09%, while monthly inflation was at 2.24%. The annual average increase in CPI was recorded at 60.45%. Among the main expenditure groups, the smallest increase was observed in transportation at 26.24%, while the highest rise was in the education group at 92.49%. In November, the clothing and footwear group decreased by 0.25%, while the highest increase of 5.10% occurred in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group.

The core CPI indicator (B), excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold, showed an annual increase of 45.68% and a monthly increase of 1.54%. The annual average increase in this group was recorded at 60.56%. Among the 143 basic items in the general index, 27 saw a decrease, 10 remained unchanged, and 106 experienced an increase.

In the Istanbul stock exchange, YESIL, IHLGM, and CMENT were the stocks that reached the ceiling price at the opening. BRKO, SNKRN, and FORMT were among the stocks that experienced the most decline in the early transactions.

In the domestic foreign exchange market, the dollar/TL continued to rise moderately, trading at 34.74 in the morning. Euro/TL increased by 0.1% to 36.5, and gram gold found buyers at 2,957 TL with an increase of around 0.7%.

In foreign markets, Asian indices are showing a positive outlook today. While European stock markets and the Dow Jones in the US had a buying trend yesterday, European futures indices are moving in the negative this morning. US futures, on the other hand, are exhibiting a horizontal movement.
