The Astana Process May Kick Off at the Doha Forum on December 7-8

Forex - Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyid Abbas Arakchi stated that he may meet with the foreign ministers of Turkey and Russia during the Doha Forum, which will be held on December 7-8, in the context of the Astana negotiations. Arakchi had previously announced at a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, "In our discussions with our Turkish Foreign Minister, we agreed that the next meeting of foreign ministers under the Astana process would be held soon." Iranian media reported that the meeting could take place on December 7-8. In a statement made from his X account, Arakchi said, "I had open and constructive discussions with Syrian President Assad and Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan. My trip from Damascus to Ankara was one of the rare direct flights between the two countries. We all agree that a new war in Syria would benefit no one."
