Boyd Group Services Appoints New CEO
Boyd Group Services Inc., known for its auto repair center operations, announced a change in its leadership team. Effective May, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Brian Kaner will take over as the new CEO, succeeding Timothy O'Day, who has held the position since 2020. O'Day's tenure began after Boyd acquired Gerber Collision & Glass in 2004, marking a significant period in the company's history.
Analyst Daryl Young from Stifel noted that this change signifies the end of an era, highlighting the long-standing and respected leadership of O'Day and former CEO Brock Bulbuck in the collision repair industry. Kaner, who joined Boyd in 2022, was initially responsible for managing the company's collision repair operations. With his appointment as President and COO, his role expanded to encompass overall responsibility for the company. This strategic move coincided with O'Day stepping down from the presidency.
The CEO transition, set for May 14, is viewed by RBC as a natural progression. This assessment takes into account Kaner's increasing engagement with the investment community and his growing influence on company operations over the past six to twelve months. RBC expressed confidence in Kaner's ability to lead Boyd Group Services into its next phase of growth.
