Christine Healy Takes the Helm as Northland Power's New CEO

Leading Canadian energy producer Northland Power has announced the appointment of Christine Healy as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective February 5. This announcement follows a period of uncertainty regarding the company’s succession plans. The search for a new CEO began after news broke at the end of March that Mike Crawley would be stepping down after a six-year tenure in the role.

Since Crawley's departure on September 30, John Brace had been serving as interim CEO. The prolonged absence of a permanent CEO had raised concerns among industry analysts, who suggested it could put pressure on the company’s valuation. TD Cowen analyst Sean Steuart emphasized the impact of the prolonged search on Northland Power's market performance.

Christine Healy brings a wealth of experience to Northland Power. Most recently, she served as president of AtkinsRéalis, managing operations in Asia, the Middle East, and Australia. Her previous key role was as president and CEO of Total E&P Canada, a significant position within the French energy giant TotalEnergies. Additionally, Healy has proven her extensive experience in the energy sector through senior roles, including chief strategy officer and general counsel at Maersk Oil and Gas.
